No Covid-19 deaths for past two weeks in Scotland | Scottish schools are opening in August.

Nicola Sturgeon begins her statement by confirming 18,597 people have now tested positive for Covid-19, an increase of 17 from yesterday.

260 patients are in hospital with a confirmed cases, with two being treated intensive care units, Scottish government said.
No deaths were registered in the last 24 hours of people who tested positive, meaning the total remains at 2,491.
”In fact no deaths have been registered under this measurement for past two weeks”.

Scotland to pause shielding and reopen schools from August. 
Nicola Sturgeon confirmed that pupils will be able to return to school from August 11, with more health measures in place to keep students safe. Shielding will be paused from August 1, while gyms will remain closed until at least September 14. Scotland remains in Phase 3 of lockdown.
confirms there is no move from phase three to phase four in Scotland on lockdown restrictions, and says phase three may continue beyond the next review in three weeks’ time.
Gyms and swimming pools in Scotland could be allowed to reopen on 14 September. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon says indoor sports courts and stadia could also reopen on the same date.
